Our promise

Sustainability

Make your walls stand out, while we stand up for the planet

If you haven’t noticed already, we really like this planet and we try to take care of it the best we can. In our everyday life at home that looks like recycling, cutting down on single-use plastics, and trying to make as many green choices that we can in our food habits.

As a business that makes and sells curated art, we embrace the challenge of having an earth-conscious brand heads on.

What that looks like for Scandi Collective is: using no plastic for shipping, donating money to organizations we belive work to help find solutions for the future, using no acrylic or glass for our framing, and using Swedish designed biodegradable Re-board® to print on.

About Re-board®

Re-board is a paper core board. It is engineered with a patented core (a high-density paper fiber structure tilted to 15 degrees) that gives the perfectly balanced weight/strength ratio to position paper as an alternative to other materials within VISCOM, retail and industrial applications.

Can Re-board recycle?

About Our Frames

Upholding sustainability is at the core of our brand's mission, which is why Scandi Collective has selected European Beech for our natural frames and Poplar for our black frames.

Natural

The standing timber in Europe's forests are some of the most sustainable and tightly managed forests in the world, and the fast-growing, hardy nature of European Beech allows it to flourish in diverse environments. Thanks to sustainable harvesting practices, these forests are thriving and expanding.

Furthermore, the wood's consistent grain pattern and warm, light tones have made it an exceptional choice for Scandinavian-themed furniture and millwork for decades. Our frames are left "raw", devoid of any oil or acrylic coatings, precisely milled and lightly sanded to preserve the natural integrity of this beautiful material.

Black

Scandi Collective chose Poplar for our black frames, a sustainably grown wood native to the United States. Harvested in the Appalachian region, Poplar stands out as a premier US hardwood due to it's fast growth cycle which is why it is an excellent source to harvest/replant with minimal environmental impact. We specifically opted for Poplar for our black frames due to its outstanding painting properties. Our paints are 100% water-based, and have a lovely low-sheen luster.
